HQ Digital signs two more historical novels from Michael Hollows

HQ Digital has signed two more books from historical fiction writer Michael J Hollows following the bestselling success of The German Nurse. The first book in the deal, The German Messenger, will publish in January 2023.

The book takes place during the devastating Liverpool Blitz of 1940-41. Socialist journalist Ruth and ARP warden Anthony meet amidst the horrors of the Liverpool Blitz, but Ruth is hiding a dangerous secret, one that will force Anthony to choose whether to betray the woman he loves, or his country.

Hollows said: "I'm extremely excited to sign a two-book deal with HQ Digital, who gave me the chance with my debut novel Goodbye for Now and have helped nurture my writing over the last few years, always being supportive and encouraging. It's an absolute privilege to get more opportunities to tell the incredible stories of people's courage and strength during wartime, and to work with the HQ Digital team again.ā€

Abigail Fenton, Editorial Director, said: "Iā€™m delighted that we have two new books from Mike, following the fantastic success of The German Nurse. His writing combines his incredible eye for detail and his ability to evoke the courage and heartbreak of war with breathtaking results, and I know readers new and old will love these two books just as much as his last."

Deal secured when author and agent were at the Kate Nash Literary Agency
